Comments: I’d like to echo Ron Yorkovich’s sentiments about the reunion. This was my first but not my last. It was nice meeting Rich O’Hare and his better half , (I kept running into them at airports). Seeing Jack Hamilton and spending time with Ron Yorkovich, Bill Bonser, and Bruce Kinzer reminded me of what a special unit we had and what an inspiration Jack Hamilton was and continues to be to all who served with him. Meeting all the 82nd Vets from other wars was very enlightening. Thanks for all the work putting this together, job well done!!!!Â

Comments: The reunion was great – it just keeps getting better, year after year. Old friends joined with several new members, making it a memorable time. It’s amazing that, after all these years, there is a comfort level that just can’t be described – you have to experience it. It’s as though our time together those many years ago happened just last week. Especially significant was the appearance by Jack Hamilton; he and several troopers from A 1/505 had a great wee hours reminiscence. We were also honored by MG Caldwell and CSM Amacker spending quite some time in the Golden Brigade hospitality suite (well stocked; courtesy of Sam Adams and Berenger!). There was a great turnout of wives (the most I’ve ever seen), and the young troopers fresh from Iraq are inspirational – we’re in good hands!

Comments: JUST WANT ALL YOU AIRBORNE BROTHERS TO KNOW, THE 82ND CONVENTION IN RENO WAS THE BEST! FINALLY MET RICH O’HARE AND HIS WIFE IN PERSON, GREAT JOB YOU TWO! RICH, THE LITTLE LADY WAS THE PERFECT HOSTESS, SHE SURE KEPT THE BRASS IN LINE. IT WAS SO NICE TO SEE GENERAL BOLLING AGAIN, HE’S THE PERFECT GENTLEMAN WITH THAT DASH OF HUMOR & WITT. ALSO RON YORKOVICH, LIKE I TOLD YOU AT DINNER, YOUR DOING A GREAT JOB WITH THIS SITE, I LOOK FORWARD TO YOUR UPDATES. ALL IN ALL FELLOW TROOPERS, THESE FOLKS ARE DOING A OUTSTANDING JOB LEADING OUR CHAPTER. BEFORE I CLOSE I’D ALSO LIKE TO SAY HOW PROUD I WAS OF THE ACTIVE DUTY 82ND TROOPERS WHO JUMPED IN AT RENO. THEY NOT ONLY LOOKED GOOD, BUT PEOPLE NEW THEY WERE IN THE PRESENCE OF SOMETHING HONORABLE WHEN THOSE MEN WOULD MOVE ACROSS THE ROOM. THE 82ND ALL-AMERICAN CHORUS—-WORDS DON’T DO JUSTICE—SO THAT’S ALL I’VE GOT TO SAY ABOUT THAT. HOPE TO SEE YOU ALL AND MORE AT NEXT YEARS CONVENTION, ALL THE WAY FOLKS!!!!
