Mini-reunion A Co. 2/505, 3rd bde, 82ABN, Oct 3 to 5. A few of us 4th platoon guys who could not attend the National Convention in Milwaukee are meeting in Gatlinburg, TN, next week: Oct 3rd, 4th, and 5th. We served in the 4th platoon in 1968 and 1969. Our Company commanders included: Cpt’s Kapranoupolis, Todd, Gallagher, and De Sales. We will have very informal gatherings just to visit, chat, view pictures, and catch up. No formal events; we agree on when and where to meet. Bring your own food and drinks. Lots of time to visit area attractions in Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and the Great Smoky Mt National Park. If any Golden Brigade guys are interested in joining us, contact James “Pops” Wilson via email at pops82nd@yahoo.com or look me up or leave a message for me at the Gatlinburg Holiday Inn Sunspree Resort, 520 Historic Nature Trail,(865)436-7974, on Oct. 3rd to 5th.

I am looking for Sam Kelly. He was a Platoon leader with the 82nd in 1969. He might have known my brother, Lt. Johnny F. Davis. Johnny was in Co. B, 1st BN, 505th INF, 3D BDE, 82nd ARB DIV. He was in VietNam from May 13th, 1996 until his death on June 14th. He was a Platoon leader and was killed in an ambush in the Providence of Hoa Nghia. If anyone knows where Sam Kelly is please forward this to him and I pray he will get in touch with me. Thank you and God Bless,

Comments: Assigned to 1st Plt, A/1/508 from Feb – Jun 68. The years have not been kind to my memory for those I served with during my days with 3rd Brigade. So, I can not ask for friends by name but would like to hear from anyone who possibly served with me. I was with the 325th at Bragg before being reassigned to the 508th. I have some pictures from that time but failed to write any names on the back and would like some help identifying the faces. I just completed my application for a life membership in the Golden Brigade Chapter and sent it off.
