And still more to come!
It’s a long video and will take a bit to load … well worth it! Be sure your speakers are on.

Troopers, I have received dinner reservations for 39 adults and 5 children so far. I have commitments for five other adults. Now is the time to send in your checks as I have to make a deposit with Dixie Stampede right quick.
Members – Please be advised that the Rosen Centre (Main Hotel) is full. The other two (2) Overflow Hotels are as follows:

Dear Friends,
Col Jameson is not doing well and is in a nursing home.  I called today and spoke to him briefly. He seemed to recognize me and his voice picked up when he heard Shirley and Martha’s names. He still wants to dance with you ladies and he still loves ice cream.
Calling him is a problem as it takes about 10 minutes to get him to the phone – no kidding. Maybe a card would be a good thing to send him.

Dear Troopers and their friends and families:
This convention looks like it will be a very big one for Golden Brigade troopers. Many, many folks have called saying that they will be there. I urge you to make you hotel reservations quickly – information is on page 54 of your Spring Paraglide.
As usual we will have a fantastic hospitality suite starting on Wednesday evening where you and your family can come together to tell lies, renew relationships of many years ago and meet new friends. There is nothing better!
Over the past several years we have hosted a dinner get together on Thursday night where we can spend some special time together. This year will be no different but we have a great event that all will enjoy. We will be going to Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede where you will be fed more food than a starved 19 year old infantryman could eat and be greatly entertained with a fantastic horse show with a very patriotic theme. Dinner also includes beer, wine or soft drinks. I’ve been there and we really enjoyed it as I’m sure that you will. It is geared for all ages so bring the kids and grand kids.
The cost is only $30 for adults and $20 for kids 12 or under. Since we have to book and pay in advance, please send your money along with the coupon below as soon as possible. Don’t delay – now is a good time to slide the check in the mail. If you have not renewed your membership – download an application from our website, stroke a check for $100 for life membership and be done with it. No sweat GI – you number 1.
I got a call from MG Bolling this evening. He is doing fine. Many of you don’t know that he was a real hero in WWII, having been wounded, captured and escaped from POW camp not once but twice. He is going to Germany this August for 2 weeks where they will be filming a documentary about his ordeal so he won’t be at the convention. He sends his best to all (and by the way said he would send a donation as he always does).
The Orlando hotel seems to be filling up fast. Carl Bludau called me this morning to inform me of that. We will have a very large turnout so don’t delay.Â
