Looking for Rosters

Category: All Messages,Looking For – Ron Yorkovich 7:18 pm

My name is George Reed and I was the Artillery Forward Observer with Charlie Company First of the 508th Infantry from roughly July 1968 to April or May 1969. I think the names of our CO’s at that time were CPT Parker and CPT Hodecker. Would love to hear from you. After that I served as the Fire Direction Officer with Charlie Battery 2/231st Artillery until August 1969 prior to going stateside. I’m particularly interested in anyone who served in those units at that time.  If you remember the names of the Platoon Leaders or Platoon Sergeants it would be great. I’m writing a recollection of that time and would love to connect with anyone who served at Hue Phu Bai and the Pineapple Groves south of Saigon. Does anyone have any old rosters of all the units at that time? That would be very helpful. Any photos you could share would be a great bonus. God bless you all and thank you for your service.

Mike Glockler Hospitalzed

Category: All Messages,Announcements – Ron Yorkovich 9:13 pm

Mike was coming home from my birthday party and on the way into the house he took a very bad fall, injuring his upper spinal cord.

I saw Dad this morning and he has limited mobility in his arms and is able to wiggle his toes with just slight movement in both legs.  Dad is a strong man, the only man who I know that has beat Viet Nam, Cancer, divorce, back surgery, and many personal triumphs and has kicked and screamed the whole way though it.

Mike is now a patient at the:

Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital
5000 South 5th Avenue
Hines, IL 60141

 Linda & Heather Glockler

Best wishes from everyone in the Golden Brigade Chapter, Mike   – we’re all rooting for you.
