  12. Great to see so many names of guys I served with. I don’t know if Doc Hiben remembers but he and I were at Fort Bragg together and when he arrived in RVN I persuaded the “Old Man” that he would make a fine medic – His real MOS was either 11B or 11D. He, I, Don Dittenhoffer (Ditt) and other crazies were in the 1st platoon before I moved over to be Cpt. Dehncke’s Track Commander in September, 1968. I have been in contact with Charlie Severino, Mike Laneville, Cpt. Dehncke, Mark Robertson (Rob) (3 plt), and saw Richard Frieze (also 3rd plt) many years ago. I have been looking for Tony Cutajar and Mick Morris from 1st platoon days (we came over on the same C141)and would love to get in touch ed Arrieno who I also served with at Bragg. I have trying to find LT. Hall (1st plt leader) for years, but no luck. If anyone has communicated with Cutajar, Morris, Arrieno, or Hall, please let me know how I can contact them.

    Reid (‘Lye”)

Hope all are well and if any have any info on Cu

  30. Anyone out there remember when we were still up north we had to plant ground surveillance radio tubes along trails, paddy dikes etc. Then setup radar sites to gather movement info for our night ambushes?
We usually went out in 2 tracks late at night and tried to be quiet and stealthy while walking along paddy dikes with these heavy tubes on our shoulders. After planting these tubes most would self-destruct because of movement to the tube after arming them and they became useless and we had to remove the hot tubes. There were only about 10 of us involved in the entire project. mlaneville@aol.com
